Operated as part of CFMS, the Advanced Simulation Research Centre (ASRC) has been created to:

The state-of-the-art facility challenges our perceptions of a traditional working environment, with the following areas available to support collaboration, research and demonstrations:

  • In-house HPC capability
       
    • IBM iDataPlex 240 node cluster (2 x 6-core Nahelem processes, providing 2,880 available cores) 
  • IT Lab
    • Houses specialist infrastructure to accommodate a wide range of IT systems for hardware and methods development
  • Visualisation Suite
    • Containing an adaptable HD visualisation wall with accommodation for system demonstrations and user feedback
  • Integration Suite
    • High specification computation and visualisation facilities, supported by advanced connectivity, for online system development and integration 
  • Open working areas
    • Hot-desking and touchdown-desking for co-location of research teams 
  • Private working areas
    • Ideal for housing more sensitive research activities
  • Meeting rooms and conference facilities
    • We have a range of rooms to accommodate between 2 and 80 delegates
  • Ample parking and catering facilities
